The new season fabrics have recently been launched by all of the major houses. The trend towards warm neutrals, creams and Scandi styling continues with a gradual move away from grey.

There are 70’s style retro prints included in several of the collections, as well as whimsical prints which would be ideal for a bit of fun as a statement cushion or two, or even a whole pair of curtains, if you’re brave enough!

Room-high patterned sheer fabrics are gaining in popularity with the continued demand for floor to ceiling windows. Sheer curtains can help to diffuse the sunlight and glare from large expanses of glass, but if you need a more effective window dressing, the new Clic Surface Blinds attach to the glass for complete light blockout.

Here’s my pick of some of the new fabrics which I hope might inspire you!

Clarke & Clarke

Clarke & Clarke has collaborated with Breegan Jane, the US interior designer, author and philanthropist, in a collection showcasing her global design style which emphasises the dramatic side of nature.

Inspired by the Mediterranean coast, Paradiso is a collection of 26 beautifully tonal woven textured plains. The fabric has a distressed, natural look and is a cotton polyester blend.

Nairobi is a sheer, 100% cotton, watercolour design featuring a soft cloud-like texture to create drama at floor to ceiling windows.

Exciting new product…

Dressing bi-fold doors or tilt & turn windows has always been quite challenging; and whilst the type of blinds that fit into the window beading have been around for some time now, these aren’t a popular choice with everyone.

Clic Surface blinds are an innovative new design that fits vertically to the glass with extremely strong 3M tape, no drilling required.  The blinds run up and down on guide wires and are available as pleated or metal venetians in a range of colours.
